Before You Start...

This D3.js course was made using version 5 of D3.js. To make sure everything works the same as in this course, you should use version 5 too.

However, for those who wish to use version 6 (with some breaking changes), you can find a migration guide at the very end of this course in the last section. This guide points out lessons in this course which won't work with version 6 & also shows you how to correct those sections to work with version 6.

In addition, we use Firebase to store our real-time data for thise course. The Firebase dev team frequently update the design of their service website, so what you see now may not match what you see in the videos but the general setup flow is the same. Either way, you can find more up-to-date setup instructions for more recent versions of Firebase in the last section of the course too (in case you have any problems).
